If fashion is your passion then you do not want to miss the Dior La Galerie in Avenue Montagne, opened right next to the Dior flagship store and headquarters. I was presented with the amazing opportunity to go visit the gallery a few weeks back. The attention to detail, and history of Dior created a breathtaking museum which left us speechless.

The immerse experience on the creation and development of the brand has created many ideas and and an experience to never forget.

The Start

When you first arrive you get welcomed by a beautiful white entrance, and you are handed an information sheet, alongside a fun quiz that you can complete as you walk around, and of course it’s all on theme.

The first thing to catch your eye is the wall of Dior products, arranged with color coordination – The Diorama. All placed alongside a beautiful glass staircase to take you to each floor of the museum. This is of course the perfect place to have a little impromptu photoshoot… as everyone does.

Dior 1905 – 1957

On the first (top) floor you can read all how Dior began, alongside some beautiful pieces, and sketches created from Christian Dior. Here, personal inspirational items of Christian Dior are exposed, along with unique and one of a kind, limited addition products. This exhibitors is all set between 1905 and 1957.

Enchanted Gardens

Moving along, you will find the enchanted gardens, a beautiful array of flower dressed which were very meaningful to the designer. This was due to his love for flowers that started in his childhood home in Normandy. He used nature as a point of inspiration and a place for him to experiment.

Dior Allure

Dior allure is a beautiful, more modern part of the Dior Gallerie. It expressed points of interest and of importance, such as feminism. With a big pop of color – mostly red – it expressed passion and empowerment for important topics. As a haute couture brand, it’s important for them to show support to feminism, also because women are their primary target group .

The Ateliers of Dreams

The name of the exhibit is definitely right on target. When you walk into the room you get welcomed by a bright light coming from the all-white exhibit. There is an on-site wedding dress tailor, with wedding dress designs and concepts developed by Christian Dior through the years. The dresses are placed perfectly and leave lots of room for imagination and perhaps some wedding inspiration … sorry Toby.

The Dior Ball

Now, this was definitely the most spectacular room of all, at least from the ones I’ve mentioned in this article. The light show, the arrangement, the mirrors, pretty much everything, creates a magical – you could say – atmosphere right when you walk in. As you walk in you’re greeted with a wall of vintage Vogue Magazines, and more up-to-date ones while you leave.

There are many other exhibitions to be discovered but I will leave it up to you to do so. If you’re in Paris you really don’t want to miss this opportunity.
