Making my dream happen… Studying luxury fashion

All my life I have moved around an average of 2.75 years, that came with changing two schools in three years, starting over a new life, leaving and making new friends, among many many other things.

Because of this, I find it really hard to settle in one place. After moving to Amsterdam in 2019, I thought I found a place to settle down for a long time, and in fact, it has been the longest place I’ve ever lived. Now with this said, after three years (my bachelor’s was four) I was already itching to leave. I was lucky to detach and move to Paris for six months, and once I graduated, and having my boyfriend and my group of best friends, I decided to stay.

I found a job at a grocery store where I worked during my 5th year in Ams, and worked on my own freelance UGC project, which allowed me to stay flexible, enjoy the city, and make good money on the side. However… that wasn’t my dream.

My dream was to live in New York and work in fashion. As much as I was enjoying my time I knew I still wanted to leave Amsterdam as staying there was not alloying me to chase my dream. So I decided to apply for my Master’s degree in Luxury fashion in New York and London.

This is a long story for another blog post, but long story short (for now) I decided to move to London. For this, I am extremely excited and happy about this decision. I am taking a step towards my dream by studying at Vogue University of Fashion and Design (currently names Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design) with a MA in Luxury Brand Strategy & Business. I can barely believe it myself.

I will be embarking on this new journey, finally being able to reconnect with some friends from High School, and I will even be living with one of my closest friends whom I haven’t seen since Middle School in Dubai in 2012. Like… WHAT!!!! If you told me five years ago this was going to be my life after graduation I wouldn’t have believed you.

The course is just one year, but I hope and will work my ass off to stay in London much longer, and land the job of my dreams in luxury fashion.

And now I’m signing off… till next time 🙂
